back from the Attari Wagah Border after witnessing the mesmerizing Beating
Retreat Ceremony took an unexpected, delightful turn. Cruising down the Grand
Trunk Road in Punjab, a majestic structure on the roadside caught our eye.
This wasn't
your ordinary eatery. Haveli Dhaba, with its vibrant rural theme, beckoned us
in. Here, amidst the traditional décor and undeniable cleanliness, visitors can
savor delicious food while enjoying a taste of Punjabi village life.
As we pulled
up, a warm smile greeted us from a friendly Sardarji in traditional attire,
standing guard at the entrance. Haveli Dhaba isn't just a restaurant; it's a
portal to an authentic Indian culinary experience.
The marriage of
traditional aesthetics with modern amenities creates a truly unforgettable
ambiance. The staff, dedicated to creating a welcoming atmosphere, ensures your
dining experience exceeds expectations.
Open for
breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Haveli Dhaba caters to every craving. Their
attentive staff ensures exceptional service throughout your visit. This conveniently
located highway haven invites you to embark on a delectable journey through the
flavors of India.
The food itself

Their signature
Makki Di Roti and Sarson ka Saag, a must-try, arrived with generous dollops of
butter melting on the warm rotis. Being a group of five, we opted for a variety
of dishes, each bursting with flavor. It's safe to say we devoured every morsel
with relish!
Beyond the
feast, Haveli Dhaba offers a delightful exploration of rural life. We embarked
on a post-meal tour, witnessing bullock carts, pottery workshops, blacksmith
shops, and even a glimpse into the magic of the Haveli kitchen. For families
with children, a dedicated play area ensures everyone enjoys the vibrant
ambience.
It's important
to note that there are several Haveli establishments in Amritsar. The one we
visited offers a vast menu encompassing North Indian, South Indian, fast food,
Chinese, sandwiches, desserts, pizzas, beverages, Mughlai dishes, and various
Biryanis. They even have a buffet option for two at a very reasonable price.
Haveli Dhaba is
a must-visit for anyone seeking a delightful dining experience with a touch of
rural charm in Amritsar. So, the next time you find yourself on the Grand Trunk
