Falling on
the 11th day of the full moon in the Hindu month of Bhadra (usually between
August and September), Karma is dedicated to Karam Devta, the God of power,
youth, and good health.
Young
villagers, brimming with excitement, venture into the lush jungles to gather
wood, fruits, and flowers - offerings for the worship of Karam Devta. The
festival's heart lies in the Karma tree, its branches adorned with vibrant
blooms and fruits, standing tall amidst a joyous gathering. The air thrums with
music and laughter as communities come together to sing, dance, and share
delectable treats.
