Rain, a blessing and a challenge – that's the reality we face during the monsoon season. It brings a welcome respite from the scorching heat, but its intensity can sometimes lead to devastating floods and landslides, as we've seen recently in Kerala.

As a photojournalist, I'm trained to capture stories in a single frame. While the news focuses on the devastation, I find myself drawn to the quieter moments of the rainy season.

A Raindrop's Journey #TheWaterCycle

One misty morning, while on a walk, I noticed a branch adorned with glistening raindrops. A nearby red flower cast a vibrant reflection, adding a touch of magic to the scene. This simple image reminded me of the incredible journey a raindrop takes. It falls from the sky, dislodging tiny particles of earth, some of which are carried away by the flowing water, contributing to the very floods and landslides we witness.

The Power of Rain

Rain is more than just water falling from the sky. It's the lifeblood of our planet. Clouds, formed by condensed water droplets, release their bounty upon the earth, replenishing rivers, lakes, and underground aquifers. This precious water sustains all living things – from towering trees to the tiniest insects. The rhythmic patter of raindrops can be incredibly calming, while the earthy scent that rises after a downpour is simply invigorating.
