Wild Flowers

Wild Flowers

Long time ago while moving around country side I suddenly spotted a wild flower with the burning effect in directional evening light. Although there were many but I singled out one and aimed my analogue camera Nikon with long zoom lens 70-200, just to isolate one from the others to compress and blurred the background effect with the help of long zoom, due to against lighting the burning of hairy stems of the plant clearly visible and giving three dimensional effects. Then I composed and shot it.

Taking picture against the sun is a calculative matter for the exposure, if the photographer is not alert then it will be quite difficult to shoot and give desire results, specially when shooting portraits in this situation against the light one has to fill the face of the person by bouncing light or through fill in flash and other light source to get the details of the face otherwise the picture will be darkened. So in this situation a little calculation of light is necessary due to its different lights sources.

Wild flowers are those who are uncultivated, unfenced, not seeded or planted intentionally, but which mushroomed at their own way, this can be seen everywhere, which generally go unnoticed. In European countries Sunflower as select wildflower verities for food, oil, flour etc. In aquatic Lotus is seeded as ornamental gardening but because it spread very fast and become nuisance for other aquatic plants as it cover the whole pond completely is also considered as wildflower.

There is a story of wildflower as a young girl Lily Cruz’s parents were killed in a brutal way by a corrupt and powerful politician family, this little girl left alone to fend herself, later she was adopted by a fearless lady and named her ‘Ivy’. There are so many films made namely wildflower.

In India rose flower is considered as King and Queen of flowers. It is an ornamental flower cultivated with choice and in some areas of countryside in bulk and marketed. Marigold is also cultivated in large scale and marketed; Chickwood is one of the mostly seen wildflower during winter in Northen India. Some of the flowers such as Columbine, Cardinal flower; Poppy, Primrose and Lilly are considered as wild flowers in our country.
