Welcome Rain
Welcome Rain
After
about a month of sultry, suffocating and scorching heat above 40 D, Celsius
which left people almost roasted as the heat wave stretched about 15 more days from the normal schedule
caused much inconvenience to the denizens as lakes, ponds and other water
bodies dried up. People of Delhi are seen scrambling for a bucket of water and
many casualties are reported due to heat stroke in Northern Indian states,
people got much shy of relief by the first thunder showers like pre monsoon
rain, which suddenly plummeted the temperature by 8 to 10 D, Celsius gave much
respite to the denizens from the sultry heat. In the scorching heat even the
cooling systems were proved inadequate and the state governments regularly
issued warning of red and yellow alert in many parts of the country.
The most
extreme precipitation is given by south west rain from June to September that’s
why rainy season in India called south west monsoon season. Generally the rainy
season in Northern Indian states begin from mid of June and last till beginning
of October. It is said that during
summer the earth warms up faster than the water bodies and monsoon winds blows
from cold to warm causing rain. These days the season becomes unpredictable due
to earth warming, so unprecedented heat, cold, rains, landslides in hilly areas
are reported and lot of seminars are organized in some of the states regarding
irregularity and unpredictable behavior of the nature and climate change but in
the nutshell the results comes nothing. Rain only occurs when air rises into
the upper atmosphere and cools. And the cool temprture cause water vapor to
condense into water droplets which falls from clouds as rain.
Rainy season
gives much relief to people from unbearable heat but at the same time brings
many health hazarding diseases like Dengue, Malaria, Cholera, Typhoid and
different viral fevers, so it is a warning also. But few people plan for vacation
after a break from long spell of the sultry heat, to hilly areas and to enjoy
the rain people also prepare different kind of delicacies such as Pakoras,
Halwa, idlies etc. The month of July and August are also notorious for floods
in many part of the country. It is like routine or perennial problem. In North
Bihar flood is a routine scenario and every year flood is reported in some parts
of the Northern districts of Bihar creating lot of hullabaloo and inconveniences
to people. And keeping the government agencies on tows.
