Heat Wave

Heat Wave

Long time back in the era of B/W I was on some assignment in Gaya. While returning back from Gaya I saw a road side water pipe line burst and children were making fun, frolics and taking advantage of the damaged pipeline they all were bathing in that. Their activities attracted me and I stopped my vehicle and went near them and started taking pictures all in B/W and got one telling shot of one of the child getting great respite from the intense heat in that shower. It is to be noted that Gaya is supposed to be the hottest place during summer in our country. So the burst of pipe was proved as a boon for them.

In present scenario most of the states in our country are reeling under intense heat wave even Jharkhand which is supposed to be greener and cool is also facing severe spell of heat wave and the Government has issued yellow alert in most of the district, junior classes in the schools are suspended and warning of not to venture out into the open is issued for the denizens as temperature soared to more than 40+ Centigrade at some place such as Behragora in East Singhbhum district it has marked 47.1, this may cause heat strokes and death due to heat stroke is also reported in locale dailies. People are facing double whammy  as the water tables are also depleted to new low of 10 meters is causing severe water crisis in some of the parts  of the city especially for the Apartments residents. In some of the areas people started vacating their apartments this is a regular scenario every year like in North Bihar flood is a perennial problem during every rainy season.

In my view the haphazard mushrooming of buildings and severely cutting of trees has made the state a jungle of concrete and Sun God is mercilessly hitting the earth as if he is taking vengeance. As I remember Ranchi was called the 2nd or summer capital of Bihar in 1960s had very pleasant weather. But slowly as the population inflated the jungles are removed paving the ways for new buildings its charm has gone. This is the problem of many cities, for example when I go to Patna, Delhi or other cities my eyes become wide to see the haphazard development of the cities. These entire crises are manmade so they are facing the music now. I tried through my picture to get some respite from the intense heat to my followers.
